Meet the Team
Richard Gibson - BVSc (Hons) MRCVS
Richard was one of four undergraduates to qualify with an Honours degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Liverpool in 1980 and won the Veterinary Clinical Studies Prize for that year. He joined Mr. W.D Williams as an assistant in the Vet Surgery in John Street, Llanelli immediately after qualification and succeeded him as sole practitioner in 1983. Richard has a keen interest in small animal medicine, especially small animal ophthalmology. In his spare time he enjoys watching his son Liam play rugby for The Scarlets and Furnace R.F.C.
Lode De Smet - DVM, MRCVS
Lode graduated from the Gent University in Belgium in 1988, and joined the practice in 1990. Married to Julie and has three children. Lode has ten horses, two Collies, two Lurchers, a Springer Spaniel, and a Patterdale cross Terrier. Lode has a special interest in surgery and equine medicine. In his spare time he enjoys horse riding, reading and spending time with his family.
Stacey Hall - BVSc MRCVS
Stacey joined the team in October 2015 having recently graduated from Bristol University.
Lynne Hayler - RVN
Lynne joined Gibson and Jones in March 2010. She completed her Veterinary Nurse training in 2014 and has a HND in Animal Science. She has a German Shepherd cross called Jasper, a Labrador cross called Bob and three cats Millie, Sofia and Suki. She also has a Thoroughbred cross horse called Merlin that she enjoys riding and competing. In her spare time she enjoys music, reading and spending time with her family.
Mel joined Gibson and Jones in October 2008. She has three dogs, Beauty a Cocker crossed Jack Russell Terrier, Ollie a Jack Russell Terrier cross and Scruffball who is a rescued one eyed Shih Tzu. She also has a cat called Mischief. Melanie is a qualified hairdresser and is in charge of doing dematts. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family, walking the dogs, making jewellery and reading thriller novels. Recently Melanie has become interested in weight clinics.
Amy joined Gibson and Jones in March 2010 and is the morning receptionist. She has two dogs, Rufus a Jack Russell Terrier and Kitty a Cairn Terrier and two cats Ethel and Emmett. In her spare time she enjoys going to music events, watching films, walking the dogs and spending time with her family, especially with her young daughter.
Tania joined Gibson and Jones in May 2013 and is the afternoon receptionist and assistant, she is also admin for our Facebook and Twitter accounts. At home she has a miniature Schnauzer called Bailey and three chickens called Kevin (female), Gladys and Scarlet. In her spare time she likes gardening, spending time with the family, pub quizzes and horse riding.
