We would recommend spaying a bitch ideally 3 months after their first season. Spaying involves removing both ovaries and the uterus and is performed under general anaesthesia. After the operation they need to be kept as quiet as possible, lead exercise only with no jumping, running, ball games for at least a week.
Male dogs can be castrated from 6 months of age provided both testicles have dropped. Both testicles are removed under general anaesthetic. After the operation they need to be kept as quiet as possible, lead exercise only with no jumping, running, ball games for at least a week.
We do not charge for post op checks ups unless the animal needs further drugs.
